This month’s company spotlight shines on DP World – a global leader proving that scale and sustainability can succeed together, even in turbulent times.

H1 2025 Performance Highlights

Despite industry headwinds, DP World has delivered an impressive first half of 2025, underlining its strength and adaptability:

  • Revenue surged 20% YoY to $11.2Bn

  • Adjusted EBITDA climbed 21% to $3.0Bn

  • Container volumes rose 6% globally to 45.4M TEU

  • Terminals under DP World’s control handled 27.4M TEU – an 8% YoY increase

These numbers highlight not just growth, but resilience in a sector that continues to face supply chain disruption and geopolitical uncertainty.

Driving Resilience in Global Trade

DP World’s Unifeeder multimodal network has become a vital lifeline for shippers worldwide. By keeping cargo moving reliably, even through disruption, the company is cementing its role as a backbone of global logistics.

Its freight forwarding platform now spans more than 300 locations and covers 90% of global trade lanes, giving it one of the broadest footprints in the market.

Sustainability in Action

DP World continues to lead the charge on greener trade with several key initiatives:

  • Carbon Credit Incentives Expanded: From 1 October 2025, every loaded container arriving through DP World’s UK ports will receive 250kg CO2e worth of Carbon Inset Credits – a fivefold increase on the previous allocation.

  • Scaling carbon inset offers: Expanding its world-first initiative for container ports.

  • Recognition: Awarded the Gold Seal for Emissions Transparency in Brazil for the second consecutive year.

It’s a tangible demonstration that sustainability can be built into global trade infrastructure at scale.

Strategic Partnerships

Growth is also being driven through global collaboration. A new MOU with Itochu (Japan) will expand supply chain capabilities and commodity distribution across sub-Saharan Africa – a partnership that could be transformative for regional trade.

Why It Matters

DP World is no longer “just a port operator.” It is actively reshaping how global trade flows, investing in sustainability, and building resilience where the industry needs it most. For businesses that rely on international supply chains, this matters now more than ever.

On a Personal Note

The next few weeks are looking particularly exciting.

I’ll be attending the DP World Ryder Cup in New York on Friday, 26th September – the perfect opportunity to catch up with clients, meet new faces, and enjoy one of the best sporting events of the year. If you’re there, let’s connect over a coffee (or a beer).

Meanwhile, Metafora Search will also be in the US, visiting clients and attending Breakbulk Americas – more to follow on that soon.
